Sugar Cane Production

If you enjoy working outdoors and driving machinery then the sugar cane sector might be for you. Sugar cane is a large export crop, with Australia among the world's most efficient sugar producers. Sugar cane is mainly grown in tropical and subtropical regions of Queensland and northern NSW, and also near Kununurra in WA. More than 80% of Australian sugar production is exported.

Competent and skilled people are required in growing sugar cane crops, for example - equipment and machinery operators for planting and harvesting; farm hands for growing, maintaining and harvesting crops; haulout operators to haul the crop out as it is harvested; drivers to transport the harvested crop for processing; and managers, supervisors, share farmers and cane farmers to run the property.
